ACORDE is a world leading designer and manufacturer of satellite and high-tech RF telecommunications and military communication products. ACORDE designs and manufactures Solid State Power Amplifiers (SSPA), Block-Up Converters (BUC), transceivers, booster amplifiers, frequency converters, satellite terminals and antenna control systems.

ACORDE is a market leader for the X-band and Ka-band. Our product line also includes L, S, C and Ku bands featuring extremely compact and ultra efficiency designs.

The company sells its solid state power amplifiers, block-up converters, transceivers, booster amplifiers, frequency converters, satellite terminals and antenna control systems worldwide through an extensive network of representatives and partners covering the five continents.

RADIO-OVER-FIBRE DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM

AC-MICRO is a radio-communication system based on Radio-over-Fibre (RoF) technology, designed for distributing radio UMTS signals from the base station to remote units.

This system allows reduced deployment time of new mobile communication networks. With only one low power base station, it is possible to cover a high number of micro cells, separated up to several kilometres from the base station.

AC-MICRO has a wide range of applications:

  • To increase coverage of a macro-cell, dividing it into micro-cells with more flexibility, without increasing the number of base stations
  • To distribute the radio signal to cover buildings, and strategic zones (airports, shopping centres, sport centres, industrial parks, business centres, etc)
  • To cover zones with difficult access and – when it is desirable – to reduce the cost of the distribution network

Bearing in mind system modularity, it is very easy for the user to configure a specific architecture in accordance with his application's specific needs.

For network deployment, it is necessary to rent optical fibres. AC-MICRO is based on WDM technology, which provides an efficient use of high bandwidth of the optical fibre, and allows the user to choose between different network topologies, e.g., bus topology and star topology.

CUSTOM DESIGN CAPABILITIES

Although ACORDE offers one of the broadest lines of standard catalogue items, the bulk of ACORDE's business is in customised components, assemblies and systems designed specifically around the customer's needs.

ACORDE's heavy emphasis on internal R&D throughout its history has lead to the creation of a company with the ability to adapt quickly to the changing needs of the customer and market, while at the same time offering competitive prices and fast turnaround times.

MANUFACTURING AND DESIGN CAPABILITIES

ACORDE will move to a 4000m² area building in the Scientific and Technological Park of Cantabria during 2008. The new state-of-the-art facilities consist of 14 separate engineering and manufacturing groups.

ACORDE has a Class 100,000 and a Class 10,000 clean room in order to support our high reliability space and military projects. To accomplish the engineering, manufacturing and testing of its components and assemblies, ACORDE invests heavily in capital equipment.

APPLICATIONS

ACORDE's components and systems are supplied to a wide variety of military and commercial markets including:

  • Satellite and ground-based communication systems
  • Military electronic countermeasures, radar warning and surveillance systems
  • System engineering equipment to be embedded on UAVs and military vehicles
  • Portable solutions, quick-deploy mobile solutions and TT&C S-band systems
