SPINNER develops calibration components for up to 50 GHz.
In recent years we have observed a continuous increase in the number of applications in the millimetre wave range. Accordingly there has been higher demand for network analysers for frequencies above 30 GHz, which in turn require high-precision calibration standards.
That is why Spinner has extended its range of measuring devices and developed a new OSLT calibration kit (Open-Short-Load-Through) for the 2.4mm connector system (frequency range 0 to 50 GHz). We offer the calibration kit with single-port standards in a connector and a coupler version and with three adapters (male-male, male-female and female-female).
All calibration standards feature excellent SPINNER quality. Extremely small manufacturing tolerances keep the phase error with the open and short standards as well as the return loss with the load and through standards both at a very low level. For the load standards the resistor elements that we manufacture using our in house thin film technology ensure a return loss of approximately 24 dB (typically 29 dB) over the whole frequency range.
We verify the model parameters using precision air lines manufactured in-house that were mechanically measured with measuring devices which are derived from standards. Thus we ensure traceability to national and international standards. The superior properties of the calibration standards allow a maximum accuracy of measurements even at frequencies as high as 50 GHz.
