SPINNER have changed the design of the two-way plug-in switches and equipped them with additional safety features. Now they can also be driven by a 24 V DC supply.

For more than 30 years SPINNER has supplied coaxial two way plug-in switches for radio and broadcasting applications, such as switches with connections in axial orientation.

Other than traditional switches with radial connections these plug-in switches are installed on the front side of a patch panel so that they are easily accessible from the front at any time.

The integrated emergency manual override allows users to operate the switch even in the event of power supply interruption. An optical position indicator on the front side provides information on the current switch position. After removing the switch, the four connected lines can be measured or manually bridged by the means of U links. In this case the switch interlock system is taken over completely without any need for additional wiring.

Following the requirements of practical applications we have added a version driven by 24 V DC to the existing version controlled of 230 V AC. An absolute novelty is the option of using the signal contacts as interlock contacts as well. This feature is achieved by the precise mechanical actuation of the contacts that are synchronised with the defined switch status.

The interlock support (see photo), eccentrically positioned, prevents any unintended misplacement of the two-way switch which might lead to an indifferent switch position. In addition, it prevents the removal of the switch under RF power by interruption of interlock contacts.
