SPINNER

SPINNER Stripline Diplexer with Cavity Performance

04 October 2007 17:49

Compact, lightweight, easy to install, cost-efficient and excellent electrical performance is supplied by SPINNER, which has managed to combine the compact size of a stripline diplexer with the advantages of the lower insertion loss of a cavity diplexer.

The housing is made of a seawater-resistant aluminium alloy without a galvanic surface coat. Thus the reliability of the design rules out any electrochemical difference in potential, which happens to occur with products made by other manufacturers.

The two-part housing is assembled using a new laser-welding technology that achieves a perfect material bond. As a result of this development the SPINNER product achieves a typical intermodulation level of less than -170dBc, even under the most difficult conditions and in extreme weather.

Another major advantage of this design is that it doesn't need any active sealing elements: the monolithic structure ensures optimum performance under any ambient conditions (IP68) throughout the whole service life. Compliance with all relevant environmental requirements has been certified by independent test institutes.

The filter structure is a new innovation by SPINNER. We use a patented mixed dielectric with high air content to significantly reduce insertion loss. In the high path (GSM1800 / UMTS) the diplexer achieves a typical insertion loss of 0.1dB, which is less than half the value of traditional stripline diplexers. Both inputs can be designed as DC path or DC break versions.
