All over Europe voice and data communication for security agencies and organisations will be converted to the digital TETRA system.
For the network infrastructure in the 400 MHz range SPINNER offers passive components such as coaxial directional couplers which provide excellent electrical and mechanical properties.
As early as in 1995 ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) decided to migrate "nonpublic wireless communication" in the conventional 2m and 4m bands to the digital TETRA standard.
TETRA meets current requirements, it is resistant to jamming and to interception and offers a data transmission function.
Since this new digital wireless communication network will be estab-lished all over Europe there will be a large demand for very high quality, reliable components.
Directional couplers have proven to be in-dispensable in applications where RF signals have to be split, combined or de-coupled at low cost.
SPINNER offers a series of new directional couplers for TETRA.
They can be used in the range of 330 to 520 MHz. The couplers are available with various coupling values.
The standard version of the direc-tional couplers is available with
7-16 and N connectors and be used outdoors without limitation (IP 65 rated).
