DigitalSkys Delivers GSM with Satellite Backhaul from Private Mobile Networks

Private Mobile Networks Ltd, the UK provider of private GSM network technology, today announced the formalisation of a business partnership with DigitalSkys Ltd to assist in the development of their satellite GSM network services.
The solutions provided will enable GSM coverage from standard mobile handsets in the local area, with backhaul connections through the DigitalSkys satellite network infrastructure, covering Africa, Europe, the Middle East and the Asian sub-continent.
The project involves the implementation and installation of DigitalSkys core GSM hardware into their satellite hub infrastructure located at the Cyprus Telecommunications Authority Teleport, with installation due to be fully commissioned within the next three weeks.
