2N Telekomunikace has enhanced its portfolio for UMTS gateways

What is UMTS network:

Standing for "Universal Mobile Telecommunication System", UMTS (also 3G) represents an evolution in terms of capacity, data speeds and new service capabilities from second generation mobile networks.

3G/UMTS offers mobile operators significant capacity and broadband capabilities to support greater numbers of voice and data customers, plus higher data rates at lower incremental cost than 2G.

Why to use UMTS gateways

Besides the fact that UMTS (also called 3G) network offers higher capacity, high data speed and new services, another advantage is the more favourable rates on calls from GSM to UMTS network. The result is that with the aid of the 2N UMTS gateway (3G EasyGate or 3G StarGate) the savings on GSM-UMTS calls will be in many cases higher in comparison with standard GSM gateways.

First products which have been launched are 3G EasyGate - UMTS gateway with analog interface and 3G StarGate with ISDN PRI interface.
