New gateways for GSM and 3G plus test equipment for broadband networks, DSL connections and triple play
Ebermannstadt, Germany - February 9, 2006. At CeBIT 2006, Vierling's Mobile Communication Division will be presenting new GSM and 3G
gateways. The company's Measurement Solutions Division will be showing new solutions for monitoring and troubleshooting broadband networks and DSL connections and for verifying quality of service with IP based services. Companies use gateways from Vierling to obtain cost-effective interconnec-tivity between mobile radio, fixed network and VoIP systems. The gateways are also useful for implementing "last mile" solutions using mobile radio and for ensuring business continuity in case of fixed network failures. Network operators and service providers use test equipment from Vierling to monitor the bandwidth, availability and range of their DSL products as well as the quality of IP based transmission of voice, data and video ("triple play"). Besides its own booth, Vierling will be a co exhibitor this year for the first time ever at the Siemens booth (Hall 26, Booth A31/63).
New GSM and 3G gateways
Vierling's Mobile Communication Division is presenting its new 8 channel ISDN GSM gateway known as Ecotel ISDN 280. The Division is also high-lighting some new features for its VoIP GSM gateway Ecotel VoIP. Intelli-gent SIM management and SIM card server integration have made Ecotel VoIP the technological leader among commercially available VoIP GSM gateways. Another newcomer to the product line is the multichannel GSM and 3G gateway Ecotel VTM pro. Vierling will be showing its complete line of mobile radio gateways, ranging from analog single-channel gateways all the way through powerful multichannel solutions.
Test equipment for broadband networks, DSL connections and triple play
Vierling's Measurement Solutions Division will present its Maestro Test and Diagnostic Units (MTDUs) which network operators can use to monitor and qualify xDSL copper cabling. Maestro VSA is used to test DSL systems and measure their interference spectra. Vierling will also present some new members of its VIT family of DSL testers for ADSL2+ with preview on VDSL2 as well as its new interference cancellation (IFC) technology. IFC compensates for crosstalk interference on copper cables so as to extend the range and bandwidth of DSL. Another focus point is the company's TiQoS (Testing in Quality of Service) platform. TiQoS is used to determine quality of service during IP based transmission of voice, data and video (triple play) from an end user's perspective. Network operators and provid-ers of IP-based services of all kinds are using TiQoS to monitor and verify quality standards so as to ensure acceptance of new services.
Covering important trends
"Vierling is keeping its focus on major trends in the telecommunications sector", said Wolfgang Peter, Managing Director of Vierling. "In our Mobile Communication Division, we continue to profit from the worldwide boom in mobile radio and Internet telephony. Our GSM and 3G gateways are being used to provide cost-effective network interconnectivity, business continuity during fixed network failures and last mile solutions. Our Measurement So-lutions Division offers test equipment for the new IP-based networks and services: Network operators are making the move to next generation net-works (NGNs). At the same time, broadband DSL connections and triple play services are booming. We are well-positioned to take advantage of these developments."
