Frame Agreement and Contract Signed Between Avitec and the Swedish Railway Authorities “Banverket”

Avitec has in competition been awarded a frame agreement with Banverket to supply In Train repeaters for X2000 and Regina coaches. Pilot installations will be carried out and evaluated during the fall of 2004. Avitec is proud and pleased to have been given the chance to contribute to an enhanced mobile coverage in Swedish trains to the benefit of all train passengers.
The Swedish Railway Authorities has also awarded Avitec the contract for supply of GSM-R radio coverage in tunnels. Swedish Railway Authorities “Banverket” has awarded Avitec the contract to provide increased radio coverage for GSM-R and Fire Brigade radio services in primarily tunnel environments. The contract includes consultation, design, installation and delivery of repeaters as well as passive equipment.
Avitec was awarded the contract after an evaluation where other Swedish as well as international companies participated in competition. The agreement was signed for a three year period with an option to extend the contract period to five years.
Avitec has 20 years of experience within the field of radio communication in complex environments such as tunnels, sports arenas, nuclear power plants, etc. Avitec has also agreements signed to supply radio coverage solutions to the Road Administration, Stockholm Metro and the Police Force.
