Avitec will through partnership with Motorola supply TETRA coverage using repeaters inside Brussels Airport. Motorola has been chosen by Belgocontrol, the Belgian air navigation service provider in charge of the Belgian civil airspace, including Brussels National Airport and four regional airports air traffic control, to supply a state-of-the-art TETRA system. It will be used by approximately 1,000 users for both voice and data aiding communication between different organizations and departments in the airport. The network is expected to be in use by early 2005.

Working with our partners, Avitec AB of Sweden, Brussels National Airport will receive a full communications system which will bring more flexibility for end-users as well as lower operating and maintenance costs.”
