Avitec Signs UK Nationwide Tunnel Coverage Contract with Network Rail

Avitec, the world's first repeater manufacturer based in Sweden, has been awarded the contract to supply GSM-R-enhancing equipment for RF coverage of over 350 tunnels across the UK Rail Network, as part of Network Rail's communications upgrade. The contract is worth £3 million over a three-year period.
Avitec will be providing both 'off air' and 'fibre fed' equipment, dependant upon the individual tunnel length. Avitec's scope of supply includes the equipment and design, as well as services such as support, integration and training.
