Combilent - Passive and Active Indoor Coverage Systems

Combilent is an independent company offering Radio Frequency (RF) coverage enhancement products and solutions - including Tower Mounted Amplifiers (TMA), combiners, filters, antennas and repeaters, and RF over fibre Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) - for the wireless industry.

Formed from a management buyout of the former LGP Allgon Denmark facility, Combilent's aim is to provide high-quality, filter-based products with the emphasis on enhanced customer service. 

Combilent provides RF filter-based products in a wide range of technologies including cavity filters and combiners, comb-line filters, strip-line filters, ceramic filters, hybrid couplers. Applications include base station combiners, duplex filters, diplex and triplex filters, multiplex filters, receiver multi-couplers, Combining Distribution Units (CDU), and VSWR monitoring. Other filter-based products offered by Combilent include TMAs and repeaters or cell enhancers.

With regard to indoor coverage schemes, Combilent offers a range of both passive and active components, such as couplers, splitters, filters, repeaters, RF over fibre DAS, and indoor antennas.

PASSIVE INDOOR SYSTEMS

Combilent has a wealth of experience gained from its many years of design work with LGP Allgon, and is able to provide a wide range of high performance, cost-effective components for indoor schemes.

Our products include arrange of RF splitters, various couplers, filter and hybrid combiners, and indoor panel and omni antennas. Emphasis is given to low insertion loss and high-reliability as both are key to high performance in passive systems.

ACTIVE INDOOR SYSTEMS

Combilent provides active elements for a wide range of active systems from single repeaters through to large multi operator DAS. Repeaters or cell enhancers are typically band selective and have a high degree of safeguards to prevent self-oscillation and disoperation.

For larger systems, Combilent is partnered with Mobile Access. Together, they provide a flexible, multi-operator, multi-service RF over fibre system. The system is wide-band and modular, and provides a platform for all systems from 800MHz through to 2,500MHz, covering technologies such as CDMA, GSM, PCS, UMTS and WIFi.

The system includes comprehensive system monitoring and alarm supervision, and can be integrated into existing network monitoring. Combilent Mobile Access system has the ability to integrate WiFi with voice, thus a single system provides the multiple services. The system is fully modular enabling new services and capacity to be added in the field, without affecting the performance of the installed services.

REPEATERS

Combilent offers a wide range of repeaters for different cellular standards and power levels including GSM, CDMA and UMTS. Self-monitoring is key to the design of Combilent products and a simple MMI, to ensure that problems through disoperation or poor configuration (the most common issues with repeaters) are minimised.
