Endwave - Integrated Transceivers and Outdoor Units

Endwave Corporation is a leading provider of innovative high-frequency RF subsystems for wireless telecommunications networks, including integrated transceivers and outdoor units. Microwave point-to-point radios are commonly used in "backhaul" applications within wireless networks to transmit voice and data traffic from a remote cell site to a central office or switch.

Microwave radio offers a compelling alternative to expensive leased-line options from local operators due to its rapid deployment, quality of service, ability to upgrade network capacity as conditions demand, and ease of maintenance. As a leading supplier of integrated transceivers for mobile telecommunications applications, Endwave offers a full portfolio of RF subsystem solutions for operation in radios ranging from 4GHz up through 94GHz.

INTEGRATED TRANSCEIVERS

The integrated transceiver is the heart of any microwave radio – and Endwave is the merchant-market leader in integrated transceiver production, having delivered over 300,000 integrated transceivers to the industry. We've become experts in eliminating cross-talk between transmit, receive, and local oscillator electronics - avoiding noise figure degradation due to digital logic, modulation, and control signal interference - and suppressing LO leakage that might otherwise weigh down your transmitter linearity.

Integrated transceivers are our business, and they exemplify our dedication to providing truly superior integrated RF subsystems for high-frequency applications. Integrated transceivers are delivered to your exact specifications and come in a variety of form factors. Endwave's integrated transceiver capability ranges from 4GHz to 94GHz and supports transmission standards for low-medium capacity PDH and high-capacity SDH radios, with data rates from 1.5Mbps up to 2.5Gbps.

Endwave integrated transceivers support a full range of modulation techniques including FSK, QPSK, and 4-256 level QAM. Endwave's current transceiver line includes both standard products and custom transceiver designs to address OEM-specific requirements and specifications.

OUTDOOR UNITS

With Endwave’s product portfolio including all the major elements of the microwave radio outdoor electronics (transceivers, converters, multipliers, synthesizers), plus our broad experience in subsystem assembly and automated testing, Endwave is uniquely qualified to complete the integration and final test of these complex OutDoor Unit (ODU) assemblies. Hence, ODUs are the highest level of integration in Endwave's product offering. Endwave has considerable experience in the design, assembly, and test of microwave and millimeter wave ODUs, ranging from relatively simple PDH Point-to-Point applications, to the most complex 64 QAM Point-to-Multipoint units.

The Aria™ and Code-Red™ ODUs are some examples of a custom-designed Endwave products. Endwave's development team is available to design similar units for your specific need, or our manufacturing team can quickly ramp-up volume production of your existing ODU through our build-to-print manufacturing services.

RF COMPONENT LIBRARY

Endwave has an extensive RF component library of amplifiers, mixers, frequency multipliers, detectors, filters, oscillators, and synthesizers that represent the key building-blocks of any T/R module. Endwave offers a strong portfolio of standard components – or, we can customize nearly any component or module solution imaginable.

MATCHING THE RIGHT TECHNOLOGY TO YOUR APPLICATION

Whether your application requires a hybrid MIC circuit, GaAs PHEMT MMIC, or a proprietary flip-chip design using Endwave's MLMS™ technology, we'll employ the best circuit technology for the job. MLMS™ employs active flip-chip and EM coupling methods to minimize semiconductor real estate and RF wirebonding – and costs 30% less than a comparable MMIC.

Epsilon™ Packaging is a multi-layer substrate and module package, all in one. It replaces costly, bulky metal housings with metallized FR-4 and injection molded metallized plastics. There are no machined metal parts, making it light and mass producible, with efficient heat extraction.

LEVERAGE OUR WORLD-CLASS OFFSHORE MANUFACTURING CAPABILITY IN SOUTHEAST ASIA

Endwave's offshore manufacturing partner has over 6,000 employees and six manufacturing facilities throughout the world. The factory in Lamphun, Thailand is considered "World Class", with over 200,000ft² of manufacturing area. They maintain over 20,000ft² of class 100,000 clean rooms in support of product fabrication and test of Endwave products, and all facilities are certified to ISO 9002, QS9000, and ISO 14001. Endwave engineering and manufacturing management are resident in the offshore factory 365 days of the year to oversee the operation.
