Multi-radio architecture in mobile devices is one of the main drives for increased antenna design and measurement needs. Botnia Hightech, a globally operating wireless technology company, has invested in a mobile antenna testing facility. The installation of the chamber and the measurement system by Satimo at Botnia Hightech’s headquarters in Kaustinen will be completed during the second quarter of 2006. The facility is optimised for mobile terminal antenna testing. The tests carried out in the facility include both passive and active measurements.

Antenna design and testing is one of our core competence areas and the antenna test chamber is one of the key facilities used to support our customers and our own design projects. Our resources have been working in several challenging customer R&D projects where the antenna has been the most crucial design element. We can also help with antenna mechanics design projects. Our testing services also include RF, electro-mechanical and environmental testing.

Our antenna testing facility includes:

  • Anechoic chamber (7.5m x 6m x 6m)
  • Satimo SG64 multi-probe system
  • Fast spherical scanning
  • Accurate 3D radiation pattern measurements
  • 0.4GHz – 6GHz frequency range
  • Measurement gate internal diameter 4m
  • Active mode test utility
  • GSM (850-900-1800-1900)
  • EDGE
  • WCDMA
  • CDMAone (HW support)
  • CDMA2000 (HW support)
  • Phantom head and hand for mobile terminal measurements
  • Direct far-field one-probe option for conventional antenna measurements
