Danish telco Telia chooses Astellia

Telia Denmark, the large Danish operator, selected Astellia's mobile full 2G test solutions portfolio to monitor and troubleshoot its GSM/GPRS network. Commissioning is due to take place in April.
The 4 MSC network, serving 1.4 million subscribers across the country, will then be monitored on the BSS and core network.
It includes the providing and installation of the Manta/Ocean probe platform as well as value-added software applications. The Service Level Management application allows the follow up/tracking of VIPs and B2B mobile fleets. The Trending & Aggregation application allows to quickly generate automatic user-specific reports.
Mr Heine Rasmussen, Optimisation Expert at Telia Denmark, states: "This end-to-end KPI optimisation and troubleshooting solution will bring value at several levels of Telia organisation - from RAN to core network, including Roaming dept and top management. 15 persons are expected to use the solution on a daily basis."
Telia foresees some direct benefits from Astellia solution such as improving the general network performance and customer experience by ensuring quick pinpointing of problems across the entire network. It will help fine tuning the network both for voice and data services, while assisting teams spending time solving the problems instead of looking for the problems.
Telia also wishes to improve roaming revenue by providing cell/user information showing where roamers are entering, leaving or re-entering the network and pinpointing areas with room for improvement.
Another essential concern is to provide quick response and feedback of customer complaints through the embedded GSM/GPRS Service Layer Management for B2B accounts.
