Astellia introduces handset profiling to its 2G/3G monitoring solutions
Mobile operators are launching more and more handset types and do not have time enough to validate them all or generate competitive testing reports for those devices. Moreover, users often perceive handset issues as being caused by the mobile network.
Astellia handset profiling offers advanced QoS and performance KPIs (service availability, failure rates, time measurements, etc.) calculated according to handset classification (per manufacturer/handset type/version) and based on real traffic observation.
Handset profiling is a software option of Astellia passive monitoring solutions; it is adding handset classification to already extensive Astellia KPI databases to enrich them with compared handset usage profiles and efficiencies. The application points at the poor quality handsets via advanced browsing through the KPIs (sorting, filtering features).
Astellia solution offers KPI reporting and trending capabilities, browsing from global dashboards to detailed lists of KPIs. Troubleshooting is eased by the navigation from a KPI to associated CDRs and call traces. Handset profiling is currently available for 3G networks. Handset profiling for 2G networks will be added soon.
