Astellia is enhancing its massive capture solution with a new OCEAN probe and a new Gigabit Ethernet acquisition board. These developments are designed to adapt to mobile networks migrating towards NGN architecture.
The OCEAN platform is a major component of Astellia's QoS and performance monitoring system. The new OCEAN has significantly increased its capture capacity to face the massive amounts of data generated by the networks.
Astellia has developed its own Gigabit Ethernet acquisition board. The new flexibility means that the board can be adapted to suit mobile network requirements (eg filtering levels) while providing a rapid answer to customers’ improvement/development requests.
An OCEAN Gigabit Ethernet board can capture up to four Ethernet ports (full input rate). An OCEAN probe supports up to eight boards.
Thanks to very powerful hardware filters, data collection can be easily and significantly reduced to required interesting information. Several filters are available at transport level and may be combined (IP, Mac, VLAN, UDP/TCP/SCTP ports).
In addition to these transport level filters, Astellia offers business-oriented filters. Thus, more protocol detection automation will soon make filtering easier even when the user does not know the network configuration. Direct filtering per protocol (RANAP, BSSAP, MEGACO, MAP, ISUP, BICC, RTCP, etc.) is under development.
