Cherokee Announces the Launch of its Local Power Sub-System

The system is designed to host two rectifiers 400W, a DC distribution unit and a controller unit which allows control over the whole system, including rectifiers, distribution and battery management.

The system operates in a wide temperature range from –25°C to 70°C with a field replaceable fan unit.

The 19in, 1.6U-high system is totally interchangeable with the remote powering system unit. This allows operators and OEMs to design one single street cabinet for their broadband application and to implement the power solutions that best meet the needs on each particular site. This major feature not only simplifies network planning, it allows operators to fine-tune investment at the very last stage of network implementation, while keeping all alternatives open for network evolution.
