TopView, built on top of Google Earth™, is part of QVoice Presentation (QVP) - the multi-functional post-processing system.

Seeing QVoice drive test data in TopView is impressive. The maps, terrain and interactive 3D satellite imagery of buildings, bridges and other structures as well as landscape contours add an element of geographic information that help you better visualize network quality and performance hindering parameters. It's easier when troubleshooting, for example, to spot shadowing cast by tall objects and signal obstructing valleys and hills.

Simply select the measurement results you want to display and the informative view in TopView will automatically start allowing you to 'fly' through the data using auto zoom overlay and live replay. You will see your test data in the exact location where it was measured and quickly understand the impact that the local terrain is having on networks' performance.

TopView is fully integrated in the QVP environment with the same touch and feel as other QVP applications. Cell lists can be overlaid for quick referencing and 'Draw Coverage' shows connection lines between measurement points to the serving cell.

The company has over 17 years of experience in research, development and manufacture of both civil and military telecommunication devices. Originally, we produced a simple fixed cellular terminal which developed into a GSM gateway for the conversion of PSTN calls into GSM calls, and later PSTN / IP / GSM conversion for alternative carriers.

An industry leader in GSM gateways, TOPEX creates media gateways, including TDM, VoIP, GSM and CDMA (2G, 3G), signaling gateways (SS7, ISDN, R2, SIP and H323), broadband Wi-Fi mobile routers and fixed-cellular terminals (2G, 3G).

In September 2006 Mobile Telecommunications Limited (MTC) in Namibia, one of the largest GSM operators in the country announced plans to launch a new 3G network. MTC is 34% owned by Portugal Telecom and has contracted Siemens to build the network. Siemens has said it has been contracted to supply and install a state-of-the-art 3G HSDPA (high speed downlink packet access) network.

The system will be one of the first such networks in sub-Saharan Africa. The network will support GSM, GPRS and EDGE connections but will mainly be used for voice. MTC, which has just over 500,000 subscribers, had 95% population coverage at the end of 2006.

Tus Mobil is a new mobile operator for Slovenia. The new company, which is part of the Engrotus retail group, gained its mobile licence when US-based Western Wireless International (Vega) shut down its network at the end of May 2006 after failing to gain a significant foothold in the almost saturated market.

Slovenia only has a population of just over two million and so this is always going to be a difficult market to sell mobile telecoms services.

In November 2006 Mirko Tus, the owner of Engrotus, bought the Slovenian alternative telco Voljatel, which offers ADSL internet access, VoIP telephony and MVNO services, for €20‐25m.
